I studied the craft of writing fiction first at Pomona College, where I had the honor of participating on the search committee for the first-ever Roy E. Disney endowed chair, and then at the University of California, Davis, under authors including Pam Houston and Lynn Freed. Later, I gained invaluable copyediting and proofreading experience during my time as the managing editor of ZYZZYVA literary journal. I have since edited numerous books for individual authors on a freelance basis, and I have worked as a proofreader for Tin House Books.
At present, I am not offering substantive editing of fiction. I do, however, offer manuscript evaluations in addition to copyediting and proofreading.
