I’ve been working as a professional editor since 2004. My clients have included individual authors and scholars; tech companies, PR firms, and nonprofit consultancies; major museums, art galleries, and art fairs; and academic and art publishers. No matter the project, my mission is the same: to realize your manuscript’s potential while maintaining your voice.
I am also a writer, both personally and professionally. My first job after college was with the City of New York, writing proclamations for the mayor. Since then, I have written foundational statements, donor appeals, branding copy, and cover letters for high-level executives. I excel at channeling the author’s voice and rhythm to craft meaningful, compelling copy.
As a fiction writer, I’ve had short stories published in literary magazines including Faultline, Alaska Quarterly Review, Calyx, and Fiction. I graduated from Pomona College with a degree in English/creative writing and attended the master's program in fiction at the University of California, Davis. After a stint in New York, I moved to San Francisco, where I worked as the managing editor of ZYZZYVA under founding editor Howard Junker. I spent two years in Lecce, Italy, and eight years in Portland, Oregon. I now live in Northport, Maine. My work has been recognized by a Martin Dibner Memorial Fellowship as well as residencies at Monson Arts and the Hillholm Writing Residency. In 2023, I was a finalist for the Maine Chapbook Contest and the Summer Fishtrap Fellowship.
